Obituary for Betty Lucile Betts

Betty Lucile Betts, 93, formerly of Stuart passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Panora Specialty Care. Private family graveside services will be held at Dalmanutha Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. August 17, 2024, at the Casey Community Building and everyone is invited to attend. Betty was born on July 7, 1931, to Lewis and Lottie (Smith) Theurer in Casey, Iowa. She grew up in Casey and attended Casey Schools. In 1949 she was united in marriage to LeRoy Betts. To this union five children were born: Mary, David, Linda, Joe and Sue. The family made their home in Stuart. In addition to raising her family, she worked as a cook for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and making quilts. Most of all, she treasured the time she was able to spend with her family and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, LeRoy Betts.


She leaves behind her children: Mary Betts of Stuart, David Betts of Stuart, Linda Betts of Stuart, Joe Betts of Stuart, and Sue Betts of Redfield; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends that will miss her dearly.
