Obituary for Beverly McVey

Beverly McVey, 78, of Earlham passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.  Graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, August 13th at the Iowa Veteran Cemetery in Van Meter.  Online condolences may be left www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.

Beverly was born on November 27, 1945, to Frank and Margaret (Camp) Cox in Osceola, Iowa, and spent her early years in the Murray area. On April 22, 1973, she married Roger McVey at the Women’s Y in Des Moines, with a reception held at the Goldfinch Room. Their marriage of 43 years was filled with love and companionship until Roger’s passing in 2016. Together, they made their home in Adel before settling in Earlham.

Beverly had a passion for fishing, gardening, baking, crafting, and antiquing. Above all, she adored her cats, whom she lovingly called her “boys.”

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Roger, her son Donald Lee Branch, and her siblings Phyllis, Herbert, and Kenneth.

Beverly leaves behind her sister Joyce Keeran (John) of Guthrie Center, her brother Phillip Cox (Mary) of Arizona, and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her.
