Bob Wolfe, 86, of Stuart passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, October 8th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, October 9th at the First Congregational Church in Stuart. Burial will be in Morrisburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Bob Wolfe Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Bob was born on March 12, 1929 to Edward and Ethel (Arroesmith) Wolfe in Guthrie County, Iowa. He grew up in the Stuart area and attended Stuart Schools. He was united in marriage to Norma Jean Baxter in September of 1946. To this union 11 children were born. The family made their home in Stuart.
Bob started working on the railroads and later worked as a mason. He was a jack of all trades that could work with anything dealing with construction. He enjoyed fishing, collecting items and drawing. He especially loved mushroom hunting. He was known as a “professional” story-teller.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma Jean; parents, Edward and Ethel; infant-daughter, Tamara; son, Robert; daughters-in-law, Sarah and Kim; and several siblings.
He leaves behind his children, Greg Wolfe of Dexter, Cheryl (Jim) Mitchell of Creston, Larry (Audrey) Wolfe of Stuart, Debbie Cooper of Stuart, Kay (Steve) Skellenger of Stuart, Cindy Wright of Stuart, Sandy Wolfe of Stuart, Tim Wolfe of Stuart, Gary Wolfe of Stuart; 34 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Olive; sister-in-law Necia; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends that will miss him dearly.
