Obituary for Candy Maas
Candace (Candy) Heer Maas, 74, of Stuart passed away peacefully on June 9, 2021. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, June 14, 2021 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Stuart Chapel. Funeral Service Tribute will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Stuart-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church in Stuart. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the 5X80 Country Club Foundation. Online memorials may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.come.

Candy was born on January 1, 1947 to Alton & LaRraine Heer in Bismark, ND. For her first twelve years, she lived in many different states until moving to Des Moines in 1959. She was a proud East sider, graduating from East High School in 1965. She began working for Delevan Manufacturing in November 1977, retiring in 2011. She was well respected at her job and made many lifelong friends.

She was united in marriage to Don Maas, April 4th, 1970. They had three children Tim, Cheryl & Donald. They lived outside of Menlo for 25 years. The 5 x 80 Country Club was a big part of their life growing up and still is today.

In 2015, she was married to Roger Anderson. They lived in Clear Lake, IA and Florence, AZ. They enjoyed playing dominoes and spending time with time with their friends.
Candy enjoyed reading, traveling, live music, dancing and going to the Iowa State Fair. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Timothy Maas, parents, Alton & LaRaine Heer; brothers Mitch, Randy and Jon Heer; sister Angel Heer; mother-in-law Evelyn Maas.

Candy is survived by her husband Roger; daughter Cheryl (Jeff) Marks of Stuart, son Donald (Amber) Maas of Stuart; step sons Jon (Jodie) Anderson, of Clear Lake, IA and Chad (Lydia) Anderson of Appleton, WI; grandchildren: Zach (Emily) Marks, Jordan (Morgan) Marks, Grace & Avery Marks, Kendall (Lucas) Maas, Reily Maas., step-grandchildren Kyle, Kaylee, Liv, Dane, Noli & Van Anderson; great grand-daughters Layla Cameron, Addison Marks, and baby Maas; siblings Brad Heer of Florence, AZ, Melanie Kunert of Des Moines, IA, Perry (Vickie) Heer of Liberty Hill, TX, Courtney Heer of Des Moines, IA, Tony Heer, Des Moines, IA, Todd (Shelly) Heer of Mingo, IA, Nicki (Bill) Manhart of Omaha, NE.
