Charles Christopher Nelson, 47, of Winterset, Iowa (formerly of the Stuart and Adair area), passed away October 31, 2023, at his home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Stuart Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held immediately following the visitation at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, at the funeral home. The burial will take place at a later date in Fontanelle Cemetery, Fontanelle Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Chuck was born January 18, 1976, in Greenfield, Iowa to Deb Nelson. He was raised in the Stuart and Casey areas, graduating from Adair-Casey High School with the class of 1995. While living in Casey Chuck first met and dated the love of his life Missy. Following high school, Chuck moved to Le Mars, Iowa where he had his daughter Hailey. He lived in LeMars until making his home in Winterset. While living in Le Mars, Chuck worked for Blue Bunny where he was a forklift operator. He later took a job with Mahle Corporation working as a machine operator at both their Winterset and Atlantic locations. It was in Atlantic, where Chuck was reunited with the love of his life, Missy Plymesser. They were engaged to be married in December of 2023. Chuck was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. Chuck also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Deb Nelson, grandmother, Myrna Nelson, grandfather, Robert Nelson, aunt, Tena Nelson, uncle, Robert “Kim” Nelson, and cousin, Hillary Nelson.
Chuck leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Hailey Nelson of Le Mars, Iowa; his fiancé, Missy Plymesser of Winterset, Iowa and her children, Henry Miller and Andee Miller both of Winterset and Charlee Miller of Des Moines; aunt, Alveda Nelson and wife Kim of Puyallap, Washington; uncle, Andy Nelson, of Des Moines, Iowa and a host of cousins and other family members all of whom will miss him greatly.
