Clara B. Wilson, 92, of Redfield passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15th from 6-8 P.M. at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16th at 11:00 A.M. at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Dexter. Burial will be at East Linn Cemetery in Redfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Navigator’s Organization (Christian ministry that teaches basics to new and young believers), in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 57, Dexter, Iowa 50070. Clara was born to Harry and Birdie Lehman, on April 28, 1922 near Adel. She graduated from Adel High. On May 16, 1941, Clara was married to Herb Wilson and settled on a farm near Redfield where they lived and worked together for 54 years until his death in 1995. They had three children: Dennis, Donna and Donald. Clara helped on the farm wherever needed, whether milking or making meals for the work crew. Clara always had a flock of chickens and the many egg customers became her friends. She also worked at the Adel Bakery and Mr. Gus Egg in Adel. Clara enjoyed gardening, crocheting and cooking. She enjoyed being with her family-especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Clara is survived by her children Dennis (Carolyn), Donna, and Donald (Candace) all of Redfield. Grandchildren: Nathaniel (Emily)Wilson, Sheresa (John) De Vries, Amber Wilson, Brandon (Ashley) Wilson, Daniel Wilson, Stacy Wilson, Skip (Chelsea) Wilson, Erica Sciarrotta, and 7 Great-Grandchildren. Brother, Paul Lehman of Perry and sister, Helen Moore of Napa, ID., as well as nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother George Lehman and sister, Elsie Webster.
