Obituary for Cleta Pauline Jones
Cleta Pauline Jones, 87, of Stuart passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Greenfield Manor in Greenfield. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Sunday, July 27th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, July 28th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cleta Pauline Jones Memorial Fund, in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, IA 50250. Pauline was born August 24, 1926 to Charles and Eunice (Brown) Waddell in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up in Stuart and attended Stuart Schools. On January 18, 1943 she was united in marriage to Archie Wayne Jones at Grant City, Missouri. To this union four children we born: Archie, Paul, Rusty and Cleta. The family made their home in Stuart. She served as a homemaker raising the family. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially cakes and cinnamon rolls. She cherished spending time with her family and loved life. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She spent her entire adult life in Stuart except for a short time living outside of Redfield.
Pauline was a member of the Stuart Friends Church and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was always willing to lend a helping hand at legion functions. She was active bowling and playing softball.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Loren, Jim, James, Gordon, Eugene, Cecil, Dale and Velma; and great-grandson: Daniel Lee Jones.
Left behind to cherish her memories is her loving husband of 71 years: Archie Wayne Jones of Greenfield, formerly of Stuart; children: Archie (Vi) Jones of Stuart, Paul (Marilyn) Jones of Menlo, Rusty (Terry) Jones of Redfield, Cleta (Steve) Sullivan of Casey; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; siblings: Everett (Colleen) Waddell of Omaha and Wally (Margaret) Waddell of Stuart; and a host of other family and friends that will miss her dearly
