Cliff was born July 16, 1960, to Larry Glen Renslow, Sr., and Darlene Ruth (Hartman) Renslow in Guthrie Center, Iowa. He attended Stuart-Menlo schools, graduating with the Class of ’78. On April 12, 1980, he was joined in marriage to Dawn Michele Wolfinger in Dexter, IA. Together, they were blessed with four children: Shannon, Michael, Joshua, and Crystal.
Cliff was a fun-loving guy with a big smile who was known to joke around and give others a hard time. He knew no stranger and would frequently run into someone he knew just about anywhere he went.
Family was especially important to him. He always did what he could to be there for those he loved most, even if he had to sacrifice or go out of his way to make it all happen. He enjoyed supporting his kids and grandkids in all their sports and activities both near and far.
Cliff was a hard-worker and made a life of serving others. He spent many of his working years in Greenfield, making friends everywhere he went. He was a member of the Stuart Fire Department for 43 years, including serving as Fire Chief for ten years, and held several other offices during his tenure. He was a lifetime member of the Iowa Firemen’s Association and was privileged to serve on the IFA board from (2004-2011) and was President of this organization from 2009-2010. He grew up attending First Congregational Church in Stuart, participated in Boy Scouts of America, and volunteered with the Stuart Jaycees. He coached youth sports, including t-ball, soccer, and wrestling. He enjoyed fishing and camping and spending time with family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Dawn; his four children and their families, Shannon (Scott) Maddux, Stephen and Sydnie of Madrid, IA, Michael (Kristen) Renslow, Hailey and Karson of Madrid, IA, Joshua (Kristina) Renslow, Alexander, Nathan, Addison, Zayla and Ember of Stuart, IA, and Crystal Renslow, Brayden, Memphis and Novalee of Stuart, IA.; four siblings, Larry (Ginny) Renslow of Stuart, IA, Julie Renslow of West Des Moines, IA, Steve (Melissa) Renslow of Menlo, IA, and Dave (Gabby) Renslow of Waukee, IA; sister-in-law Renee (Bob) Jones of Menlo, IA; step-mother Carole Renslow of Menlo, IA; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, his special camping group and his loving puppy girl, Ginger.
