Danny L. Brown, 71 of Dexter passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Community Care Center in Stuart. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, November 9th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Stuart Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, November 10th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Stuart Chapel. Burial will be at the Dexter Cemetery. Luncheon will follow the burial at the Calvary Church in Dexter. Funeral services will be live streamed on the Johnson Family Funeral Home Facebook Page (Facebook.com/JohnsonFamilyFH). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Danny was born April 17, 1951, to Harold and Lucille (Wheeler) Brown in Des Moines, Iowa. He lived his entire life in Dexter graduating from Dexfield High School with the class of 1969. While in high school, Danny enjoyed playing football, and FFA. Following high school, Danny attended Truman University and DMACC before graduating from Simpson College with a degree in Criminology and Psychology. Danny was employed at Woodward Resource Center at the state of Iowa as a Direct Care Worker for over 25 years before retiring. Danny enjoyed reading history books, watching football, long car rides, fishing, auctions, playing cribbage, and caring for his cats.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lucille Brown, sisters, Mary Brown and Delores Houseman, brother, Douglas Brown and two half-brothers, Darvin, and Roy Brown.
Danny leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Diana Stout-Brown of Stuart, Iowa; daughter, Lucianne Brown of Stuart and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom will miss him greatly.
