Obituary for Darlene Ruth Renslow
Darlene Ruth Renslow, 76, of Stuart passed away September 5, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home – Stuart Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in South Oak Grove Cemetery in Stuart. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Darlene Renslow Memorial Fund, in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, Iowa 50250. Darlene was born February 2, 1939 in Guthrie Center, Iowa to Howard and Mae (Covault) Hartman. She was raised in Guthrie Center and graduated from Guthrie Center High School with the class of 1957. Darlene was united marriage on April 12, 1958 to Larry Renslow, Sr. in Guthrie Center, Iowa and together they became the parents of four children, Larry, Jr., Cliff, Tim and Julie. After their marriage, Larry, Sr. was stationed in Oceanside, California where they lived for a few years when they returned to Guthrie Center. They then moved to Angola, Indiana and after her divorce to Larry she made her home in Stuart. Her work places included, Continental Western Insurance Company, Younkers both in Des Moines and Truck Haven in Stuart. Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Mae Hartman.
Darlene leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved children, Larry (Ginny) Renslow Jr. of Stuart, Cliff (Dawn) Renslow of Stuart, Timothy Renslow of Stuart and Julie Renslow of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Christian Littell, Sr., Brandi Littell Lampe, Shannon (Scott) Renslow Maddux, Michael (Kristen) Renslow, Joshua (Kristina) Renslow and Crystal (Lucas Anderson) Renslow; great-grandchildren, Christian Littell, Jr., Jasmine Littell, Stephen Maddux, Sydnie Maddux, Hailey Renslow, Karson Renslow, Alex Halligan, Nathan Bentler, Addy Renslow, Zayla Renslow, Brayden Cunningham, and one on the way; siblings, Peggy Brust of Missouri, Chuck (Louise) Hartman of Pella, Iowa, Gary (Kathy) Hartman of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Ellyn Rosenbeck of Alabama, Ramona (Jim) Morris of Greenfield, Iowa, Greg (Pam) Hartman of Petal, Mississippi, Michael Hartman of Alabama and Marilyn (Nick) Sellman of Des Moines, Iowa and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all of whom will miss her greatly.
