Obituary for Dean Williams
Dean Williams, 80 of Stuart passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Friday, February 7th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Stuart. Memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, February 8th at the First Congregational Church of Stuart. Burial will be at South Oak Grove Cemetery in Stuart. Dean was born on June 2, 1939 to Donald and Wyona Williams at the family farmstead outside of Casey, Iowa. He grew up in Casey and attended Casey Schools; graduating from Casey High School with the class of 1957. Dean was united in marriage to Phyllis Miller on November 5, 1960 in Stuart. To this union six children were born: Bret, Barry, Jon, Jill, Beth and Paige. The family made their home in Stuart.
Dean worked at Morrison Chevrolet and Storey Kenworthy before purchasing what became Williams Oil Company. He also owned and operated a lawn mower sales and service company. Dean was an avid skater and biker. He loved old cars and could tinker around with just about anything. Most of all he treasured time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Williams; son, Jon Williams; brother, Norwyn Williams and sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Bob Ferguson; and brother-in-law, Ken Eggerss.
Dean leaves behind his loving wife, Phyllis of Stuart; mother, Wyona Williams of Stuart; children: Bret (Tamera) Williams of Barrington, IL, Barry Williams of Casey, Jill (Ben) Bright of Van Meter, Beth (Anthony) Jackson of Johnston, Paige (Jacquelyn) Williams of West Des Moines; grandchildren: Natalie, Isaac (Chelsea), Dalton (Kelsey), Chelsea, William, Thomas, Matthew, Isabella, Olivia and Bowen; great-grandchildren: Ayianna and Lily; sister Darlene Eggerss of Avoca; and a host of extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
