Obituary for Devon "Doc" Matthew Speck

Devon "Doc" Matthew Speck, 62 of Mondamin, Iowa passed away October 17, 2022.  Per his wish cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service and burial will take place at a later date.  


Devon was born on June 27, 1960 in Omaha, Nebraska to Howard Christian and Dorothy Lee (Slater) Speck.  He grew up in Bellevue, Nebraska.  and graduated from Bellevue West High School with the class of 1978,  Following graduation, Devon enrolled into the University of Nebraska - Omaha before transferring to Dana College graduating with his Masters Degree in Music.  following school he went into the construction trade and eventually became a Master Mason Brick Layer.  He enjoyed playing music and was in a band for many years.  He also had a passion for riding motorcycles, camping and spending time with his family.  


He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Dorothy Speck.


Devon leaves behind his siblings, Howard and Peggy Speck, Clifford and Carol Speck, Denise and Lee Potter and Gordon Speck and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.  


(Cremation arrangements are being handled by Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory-Stuart Chapel).
