Obituary for Diana Lynn Pauley

Diana Lynn (Bishop) Pauley, aged 66, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2024, at her rural home in Stuart, Iowa. Born on March 23, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa, Diana was a beacon of kindness and love throughout her life, touching the hearts of the people and animals who came in contact with her.

Raised in Norwalk, Iowa, Diana was the cherished daughter of Lynn and Caroline Bishop. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1976 and went on to earn her degree in Criminal Justice from Central Missouri State at Warrensburg, MO. Her passion for helping and caring for animals was a hallmark of her character.

On August 15, 1981, Diana was united in marriage with her beloved husband, Craig Pauley. Together, they built a life filled with love for plants and animals on various properties around Stuart and Menlo. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Dane (Abby) Pauley and Beth (Travis) Rondeau. Diana reveled in the joys of being a grandmother to Parker, Macy, Alexis, Halley, Jewel, and Tommy. She was a nurturing presence in their lives, always there to cheer them on at sporting events or to share in simple pleasures of a family gathering.

Professionally, Diana dedicated herself to the care of animals. She worked numerous years at Jordan Creek Animal Hospital as a kennel manager before finding her calling at the Stuart Veterinary Office. For 7.5 years, she served as a Veterinarian Assistant, a role that brought her immense joy and satisfaction. Her colleagues and clients alike will remember her for her compassion and unwavering dedication to the well-being of all creatures, great and small.

Diana’s love for animals extended far beyond her professional life. She was an avid equestrian and found solace in the company of her dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, and goats. Her deep love for animals was matched only by her passion for gardening and fishing, hobbies that reflected her appreciation for nature and the outdoors.

A long-time church goer at the Stuart-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, Diana’s faith was a guiding force in her life. She lived her beliefs through acts of kindness and her loving spirit. Her commitment to her faith community was evident in her active participation and the relationships she forged over the years.

Diana will be fondly remembered as a kind, loving and passionate individual. Her gentle demeanor and warm smile were a comfort to all. She was a pillar of strength for her family, a devoted wife, a caring mother, and an adoring grandmother. Her legacy of love will continue to live on through the cherished memories she created with her loved ones.

Diana is survived by her devoted husband, Craig Pauley; her loving children, Dane (Abby) Pauley and their children, Parker, Macy and Alexis and Beth (Travis) Rondeau and their children Halley, Jewel and Tommy and her mother, Caroline Bishop.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lynn Bishop, and her brother, Donald Bishop.

As we say goodbye to Diana, we celebrate her life and the profound impact she made on those around her. Though she will be greatly missed, her spirit will remain a comforting presence in the lives of her family and friends.

The family takes solace in knowing that Diana has found peace and that her legacy of compassion and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
