Obituary for Diane Renae Jessen
Diane Renae Jessen passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Taylor House in Des Moines Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M. on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church in Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church in Des Moines. Graveside services will be at 2 P.M. at RoseHill Cemetery in Menlo. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Diane Jessen Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, IA 50250. Diane was born to Dwight and Myrna (Bochart) Hawley on January 25, 1966, in Dexter, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed into membership at Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter. She grew up in Stuart and graduated from Stuart-Menlo High School in 1984 and attended American Institute of Business graduating in 1986 with a degree in business Administration and Accounting.
Diane married Lonnie Jessen September 12, 1987, at Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter. They began their married life in Des Moines and have remained there through the years. To this union a son, Nicholas and daughter, Katelyn were born. They are members of Grace Lutheran Church in Urbandale where Diane enjoyed serving on the Alter Guild Committee.
During her career years she worked at Central Iowa Heating, Commtron, Principal Financial Group, Bertini Marble and Tile, and most currently at Systems Management and Balancing. She enjoyed her various responsibilities during these years.
In the spring of 2006 she was diagnosed with cancer and during the entire battle God was the center of her life. Diane enjoyed life to the fullest and was happiest when she was making special memories with her family.
She leaves to cherish these memories her husband Lonnie, son Nicholas and daughter Katelyn (Jose Mendez); grandson Caden; parents Dwight and Myrna Hawley; sister Tracie (John) Pausa; mother-in-law Vi Jessen; brothers-in-law Andy Eads, Larry (Alicia) Jessen, Loren (Syl) Jessen, Leon Jessen, and Lyle Jessen (Linda Martin); nieces and nephews John Pausa, Joey Pausa, Lisa (Dale) Knigge, Kelly Jessen (Kristen Johll), Dan (Tracy) Jessen, David Jessen, Tom Jessen, Mark Jessen, Cory Jessen, Tyler (Maia) Jessen, Adam (Elise) Jessen, Becky Jessen as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law Frank Jessen; sisters-in-law Linda Eads, and Lila Jessen; grandparents Henry and Mabel Hawley, and Garold and Mabel Bochart.
