Donna was born on September 2, 1933 to Oscar and Julia (Stafford) Sharp in Seymour, Iowa. She grew up in Seymour and graduated from Seymour Community High School with the class of 1951. On August 18, 1951 she was united in marriage (by her father, Oscar)to Lyle Crozier in Centerville, Iowa. To this union two children were born: L. Mitchell "Butch" and Coy. Donna worked as a waitress; school bus driver, in every town they lived in, until Earlham, and a homemaker for many years.

She and Lyle also enjoyed wood crafting and selling their items at craft fairs. Donna was very competitive when it came to board games and card playing. She spent many hours teaching and playing games, especially Yahtzee, with all of her grandchildren. She was a great joke teller and always had one for everybody even when she was in the hospital.
