Obituary for Donna (King) Putney
Donna (King) Putney, 73, of Redfield, Iowa passed away May 31, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center West Lakes. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M. Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home – Stuart Chapel. Funeral services will be held following the service at 11:30 A.M. at the Johnson Family Funeral Home. Committal services will be held following the services in Morrisburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donna Putney Memorial Fund. Donna also affectionately known as Tootie, was born September 13, 1947 in Redfield, Iowa to Donald and Ethel (Countryman) King. She was raised in Wiscotta and graduated from Dexfield High School with the class of 1965. She started working at the Redfield Brickyard before being employed at the SuperValu Warehouse where she was employed for several years. From the SuperValu she went to work for Homecare Services where she was employed for 30 plus years before retiring from Optimae Human Services in Adel. Donna was united in marriage to Clifford Putney in 1967 in Omaha, Nebraska and together they lived on an acreage north of Redfield before making their home in town. She was a member of the Morrisburg Friends Church where she attended for many years. Donna enjoyed collecting dolls, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite pastime was spent visiting. Donna’s door was always open to anyone that needed help or just to visit.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ethel, her stepmother, Beverly Thompson, her beloved husband, Clifford in 2018, sister, Sandra Harris, two brothers, Darrell and Ronald King, grandson Dustin Leaf and great granddaughter Natalie Love.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Pam Leaf, of Columbia, Missouri, Paula Kuhns of Redfield, Penny (Bill) Freestone of Adel, Raymond Putney of Adel, Robert Putney of Adel, Dennis (Laura) Putney of Des Moines, Scott Putney of Redifled, Christopher Putney of Redfield, Connie (Peter) Baker of Redfield, 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom will miss her greatly.
