Earl Raymond Sharon, 90 of Casey passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Stuart Community Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 7th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial with military honors will be at Monteith Cemetery – rural Guthrie Center. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Earl Raymond Sharon Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Earl was born on June 7, 1926 to Rosa Margaret (Siedelmann) and Ray Alfred Sharon at the family home in Menlo. He was the second of eleven children. As a young man he attended Menlo Schools and following his schooling he enlisted in the United States Army. Earl served in the European Theater during World War II. Following his honorable discharge he returned home to Menlo. He was united in marriage to Leta Chambers in December of 1949. To this union two children were born: Gordon and Connie. The family lived in several areas including: Earlham, Des Moines, Stuart and lastly Casey. He worked several jobs over his life; working as a rubber lining applicator until his retirement. In his spare time, Raymond enjoyed gardening, playing cards and working puzzles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leta; daughter, Connie and siblings: Ilene Jackson, Sam Sharon, Bernard Sharon and Marvin Sharon.
Earl leaves behind his son Gordon (Carol) of Simi Valley, California; siblings: Beulah Ezell, Wayne Sharon, Mildred Kimbro, Dorothy Egger, Gerald Sharon, Howard Sharon and Wilma Nicholas; special friend, Marjorie Sublett and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
