Obituary for Jack Carl Stonehocker
Jack Stonehocker, 71 of Linden formerly of Redfield passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. Graveside funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, June 17th at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Jack Stonehocker Memorial Fund. Jack was born on July 4, 1948 to John and Alice (Bainter) Stonehocker in Dexter, Iowa. He grew up in Linden and graduated from Panorama High School with the class of 1966. He later enlisted in the United States Army and National Guard serving in Alaska and Operation Desert Storm. Jack later settled in Redfield where he worked many years at the Brickyard and Grimes Asphalt. He was a hard-worker that didn’t mind getting his hands dirty, hunting, fishing and working on cars. He loved collecting bullets and military memorabilia. Most of all Jack loved socializing with his family and friends at Casey’s, at family gatherings and the American Legion Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Stonehocker; and his former wife, Helen Stonehocker.
Jack leaves daughters: Toni Green, Amy Matthews and Kim Modjeski; grandchildren: Aaron Stonehocker, Kendra (Brian) Kline, Waylon (Kat) McCarthy and Wayne McCarthy; brothers, Jimmie Ray (Ellen) Stonehocker and Billie Joe Stonehocker; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that miss him dearly.
