Jimmy was born on May 26, 1962 to James Baird, Sr. and Karen Murphy in Dexter, Iowa. He was raised in the Redfield area and attended school at Dexfield. Jimmy married Katherine Jean Irwin on December 4, 1982 in Redfield. To this union two children were born: Cory and Curtis. The two later divorced. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia and then to Des Moines. Jimmy then moved south to Oklahoma where he lived for 12 years before he settled in Des Moines where he has resided for the past two years. He recently connected with his daughter Heather which he was very thankful for.
Jimmy worked for Monarchs in Adel for five years before becoming a private contractor. He was very good at his trade and took great pride in the work that he did. Jimmy framed many houses and did all sorts of jobs with his hands. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and was very family oriented. He loved to joke and give nicknames to everyone that was close to him. Jimmy also loved to cook and would often joke with his sister Becky about who was a better cook. In his younger years, he loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He will be missed by many and leaves a lasting memory to everyone he came to be friends with.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents: James Baird, Sr. and Karen “Lolly” Love; his grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
