Karla Marie (Austin) Parker, 82, of Villisca, Iowa passed away July 5, 2023, at her home. Per her wishes direct cremation has taken place at Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Stuart Chapel.
Karla was born October 7, 1940, in Port Angels, Washington to Raymond C. Viola (Fahringer) Austin. She was raised in Camas Washington and graduated from Camas High School. Following high school, she attended beauty school in Vancouver. Karla lived in Washington until moving to Iowa where she settled in Mt. Ayr and Tingley, Iowa before making her home in Villisca. She worked as a hairdresser, owned, and operated an antique store and waitressed for several years before retiring. Karla enjoyed antiquing, fishing, dancing, and visiting with friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Viola Austin and sister, Diana Siner.
Karla leaves behind to cherish her memory her, companion, Rodger Blanchard of Villisca, Iowa; daughter, Suzzaynne (Dale) Parker of Vancouver, Washington; grandkids, Greg Caldwell of Seattle, Washington, Sarah Caldwell of Port Townsend, Washington; great granddaughter, Viola Seigle; extended family, Nadine (Rick) McMahan of Neosho, Missouri, Rodger Blanchard of Belleview, Nebraska, Sue Westerhouse of Aurora, Missouri, Dennise (Jeff) Blanchard o Chariton, Iowa, Connie (Larry) Blanchard of Gering, Nebraska, Christine Smith of Stuart, Iowa, and William Blanchard of Sharpsburg, Iowa and many other extended grandchildren and great grandchildren all of whom will miss her greatly.
