Kenneth Percy Wilder, 90 of Panora formerly of Earlham and Adel passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Guthrie County Hospital. Kenny was born July 11, 1930 in northeast Iowa. Following high school he served in the Korean War. Upon returning home he served as a heavy equipment operator and later as a garbage collector.

He was married to Lulu Belle Ruth until her death in 1993. He later married Lois Bice and become a devoted husband and loving grandfather to Lois and her family. Kenny was a “salty” character known for his great love of fishing, fishing stories, and always tinkering away in his garage. Kenny had an adventurous spirit that sometimes got him into trouble and was generous to a fault. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved a good story, loved Lois with his whole heart and generously shared anything he had with his grandchildren. Kenny was well-loved and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his three step-children: Thomas (Jackie Krogh) Bice, Kathy Bice and Cheryl Bice. Grandchildren include: Todd Bice, Hannah (Keith) Ketcham, Katelyn (Mike) Bice-Rooney, Jeremey (Casey) Samples, Jill Bice, Rhonda (Tom Jr.) Wilson, Lawrence (Butch) Culp, Steve (Benadette) Culp, James (Ashlee) Culp, Scott (Amy) Culp and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lulu Belle; wife, Lois; step-son, Jeff Bice and most recently his brother.

Gone Fishing!

Gone fishing! That’s what I’m going to do!
My time to catch the big one is long overdue.

Gone fishing! My family says “no, wait a few more days.”
Love you all lots, but it’s time for me to be on my way.

Gone fishing! Marched right up to those old pearly gates.
Got directed to catfish ponds and beautiful deep blue lakes.

Gone fishing! Paused first for a hug from Lois and moving on by.
Joked with Jeff, chatted with my brother and talked to the BIG GUY.

Gone fishing! This old earth was fine for awhile; had fishing partners that were the best.
But now it’s time, family, for me to go on home and have a much needed rest.

Gone fishing! Don’t cry for me loved ones. Don’t waste your time.
I’m home with Jesus. He says you and your fishing poles are finally mine.

Gone fishing! God loves salty old characters like me and of course you too.
Remember, we’ll be fishing together again real soon, just me and you.
