Obituary for Kenneth George Doherty
Kenneth George Doherty, 72 of Dexter formerly of Stuart passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at his home. Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, January 5th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Services will be streamed on the Johnson Family Funeral Home Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/johnsonfamilyfh). Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Kenneth was born on February 16, 1948 to Paul and Irene (Stickler) Doherty. Kenny attended Catholic School and Stuart High School. He later graduated from area XI and attended Auto Body schooling.
He worked various jobs including Wallace 66, the Railroad, Morrison Chevrolet, Pelgas, Forman and Ford, and later retiring from Glass Professionals after over 30 years.
Hobbies of Kenny’s included hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He was well known for having a good time out in the garage, around the fire pit, sitting at the picnic table and also for his pranksters. He also liked watching Nascar and playing in the football pool.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Paul Howard, Danny, Jim, John; sisters: Mary Hayes and Barbara (infant); son, Troy and granddaughter, Tyra.
He is survived by his daughters: Tammy Doherty (Randy), Tracy Chesterman (Dana) and Monica Doherty Lawson (Jake); grandchildren: Trevor (Heather), LeAnna, Christopher, Devon, Justice, Kylee, Blaine and Gannon; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Alexis, Jaxon and Caine; brother, Richard; sisters: Patsy Purviance, Alice Alexander (Gene), Ellen King (Tom) and Theresa Wells (Russ); and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
