Kenneth was born April 6, 1949, in Redfield, Iowa to Lyle and Dolores (Dunbar) Summy. He grew up on a farm outside of Earlham near Goeldner Woods. Kenneth graduated from Earlham High School and following high school he married his high school sweetheart, Dixie Piercy on February 2, 1968. Together they became the proud parents of two children, Stephanie, and Chad. Following their marriage, they made their home in Earlham to raise their family. Kenneth was a longtime employee of Monarch Cement where he worked until his retirement in 2012. Following his retirement, he worked for the city of Waukee and several local farms in the area. He was a member and Elder of the Earlham Presbyterian Church and a past member of the Earlham Fire Department. Kenneth was known as the go to guy and was always available to help anyone in need.
