Kevin Lee Waddell, 60, of Dexter passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Monday, August 28th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 29th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Kevin Lee Waddell (Henry) as he was known to his family and friends was born September 23, 1962 in Dexter, IA. Kevin was raised in Dexter and attended Dexfield school graduating with the class of 1981. Kevin was active in sports, while in school he loved playing baseball, basketball and football. During his life he had many professions. He worked at plumbing, heating, Thorpe, Northway Well & Pump, handyman services and many years in the Local Union OPCMIA 538. Kevin faced many challenges in life but overcame them all. His greatest joys in life were his family, eating, and riding his Harley. He loved to hunt, watch the Cubs and Chiefs play and watching his granddaughter Gema play soccer and t-ball. Kevin was from a large family and was survived by his 4 children Elizabeth, Kyle, Grace, and Lexi, brothers Wayne, Jim and wife Michelle, Jon and wife Kristy, Matthew and wife Jen, his grandchildren Braydon and Gema, mother Patsy Hall and LT and father James (Butch) Waddell and wife Sandra, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and nephew. He took his last ride on August 18, 2023. He leaves behind family and many friends who will miss him dearly. His honorary pall bearers are Tabatha Waddell, Nathan Waddell, Anna Parker, Mike Waddell, Nick Waddell, Mason Hagen, Marissa Hagen, Jason Simonsen, Garrett Peglow and Chase Knowles. Rest in peace: Son, Dad, Grandpa, Brother and Uncle. Until we meet again
