Linda May “Aunt Linda” Sudbrock, 70, of Dexter passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, April 9th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, April 10th at the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Dexter. Burial will be at Morrisburg Cemetery in rural Stuart. Linda was born July 26, 1944 to Clarence and Fern (Emmons) Putney in Glinden, Iowa. She grew up in Menlo and attended Menlo Schools. She graduated from Menlo High School with the class of 1962. On May 12, 1963 she was united in marriage to Larry Sudbrock in Stuart. To this union four sons were born: David, Steve, Brian and Randy.
Linda worked numerous jobs in addition to raising four very strong young men, including: Parker Brothers Games, Principal Financial and Wells Fargo. She retired from Wells Fargo as an administrative assistant. She was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Dexter. Linda and Larry enjoyed wintering in Texas. Linda was affectionately known as “Aunt Linda” to many and her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughters, Ashley and Amber.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 51 years, Larry; sons: David, Steve (Shelly), Brian (Beth) and Randy (Tracy); grandchildren: Ciera, Ryan (Jesi), Nicholas, Christian, Katie, Jeremy, Tristian, Jacob, Lucas, Josh (Kristen); great-granddaughter, Scarlett; siblings: Clifford (Donna), Donna (Larry), Ronnie (Ricki), Janice and Duane (Linda); several nieces, nephews, family and friends that knew her as “Aunt Linda”.
