Obituary for Linda Rae Sherman
Linda Rae (Sloss) Sherman, 74, of Rockwood, Tennessee formerly of Stuart passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018. Memorial visitation will be held from 1-3 P.M. on Saturday, September 8th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Following the visitation, committal for Linda and Everett will take place at South Oak Grove Cemetery in Stuart. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Linda was born on October 29, 1943 to Max and Lucille Sloss in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She was raised in Guthrie Center and attended Guthrie Center Schools. Linda would always walk to school and in the winter that meant making the five mile trip in the snow. On November 29, 1964 she was united in marriage to Everett Sherman in Guthrie Center. To this union four daughters were born: Sherry Lynn, Tammy, Teri and Mylinda.
Linda and Everett worked many years at the Stuart Rec Center. The couple later moved to Rockwood, Tennessee to be closer to family. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed taking long drives and enjoying the scenery. She loved to go to the casino and always looked forward to watching her drama shows and professional wrestling four nights a week. Most of all Linda was a beautiful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she adored each and every one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Lucille Sloss; husband, Everett; daughter, Sherry Lynn; brother, Larry Sloss; sister, Glenda Martin and sister-in-laws: Debbie Sloss, Janice Sloss and Diane Sloss.
Linda leaves behind her daughters: Tammy (Anthony) Jamez of Des Moines, Teri Sherman (Mike Jenkins) of Rockwood, TN, and Mylinda (Mark) Sommer of Spring City, TN; grandchildren: Mat Sommer, Mindy (Cecil) Sommer and their son, Weston, TomyLee Boswell and his daughter, Makenna Boswell, Sheldon Boswell, Junior (Morgan) Sommer and their sons, Connor and Bevan, and Sunni Rae Sherman; siblings: Darrell (Doris) Sloss, Kathy (Ron) Christenson, Nyle Sloss, David Sloss, Paul Sloss, Butch (Suzette) Sloss, Shorty Sloss, Tommy Sloss, Donny (Sharon) Sloss and Teddy Sloss; sister-in-law, Linda Sloss; and a host of extended family and friends that will miss her dearly.
