Obituary for Lloyd Edwin Hutchins
Lloyd Edwin Hutchins, 86, of Linden passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, August 3rd at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, August 4th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Dexter. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lloyd Hutchins Memorial Fund and sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, IA 50250. Lloyd was born on July 10, 1930 to Orville and Mary (McCamey) Hutchins in Dallas County, Iowa. He attended Adel Schools. On November 12, 1948 he was united in marriage to Joy Townsend in Stuart. To this union four children were born: Lloyd Dwaine, Ronald, Steven and Tina Louise. He was later married to Doris Fanning.
Lloyd farmed west of Redfield for many years. He lastly operated his own welding and repair shop in Linden for the last 40+ years. Lloyd was very skilled and could repair anything that was brought to him. In his spare time he enjoyed: hunting, fishing and being outdoors. In his later years, he spent many hours canning and freezing produce and processing walnuts by the truckload.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Tina Louise Hutchins and Lloyd Dwaine Hutchins; and brothers: Bill Hutchins, Orbie Hutchins and Bobby Hutchins.
Lloyd leaves behind his sons, Ron (Pat) Hutchins of Stuart and Steve (Diane) Hutchins of Monteith; grandchildren: Lisa Hutchins, Janice (Rob) Greever and Jason Hutchins; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Dylan; long time companion, Charlene Benshoof of Linden; brother, Ed (Dorothy) Hutchins of Redfield; daughter-in-law, Peggy Hutchins of Linden and a host of other family and friends that will miss him dearly.
