Lois Arlene Schiller, 97, of Stuart, formerly of Casey, passed away on March 18, 2016 at the Stuart Community Care Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 21st at Dalmanutha Cemetery, rural Casey. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lois Schiller Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Lois was born on December 13, 1918 to Earl and Josie (Land) Kirkpatrick on the family farm north of Casey. She attended Casey Schools and graduated from Casey High School with the class of 1936. On July 17, 1939 she was united in marriage to Merle “Cuddy” Schiller in a double ceremony with her brother, Lynn Kirkpatrick and Maxine Allen in Waterloo, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Linda, Larry and Diane. She lived in and around Casey until she moved to Norwalk in 1990. In March, 2014 she moved to the Community Care Center in Stuart.
Lois worked at the Community Care Center in Stuart for 15 years. She also was employed at Look Magazine and the 5x80 Country Club. She enjoyed attending Southern Gospel concerts and loved traveling to Seattle, Washington to visit relatives. Her greatest joy came from visiting with people and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Josie Kirkpatrick; husband, Merle “Cuddy” Schiller; brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Helen Kirkpatrick; Maxine Kirkpatrick and infant-siblings, Lyle and Dean Kirkpatrick.
She leaves behind her children: Linda Schiller of Arlington, WA, Larry (Mary) Schiller of Norwalk, Diane Schiller of Arlington, WA; grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer Chambers) Schiller and Sara Schiller; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Nicholas Schiller; and a nieces, nephews and other family and friends that will miss her dearly.
