Obituary for Marilyn Rae Miller
On this 29th day of October, 2014 Marilyn Rae Miller peacefully passed away at Legacy Pointe Senior Care Center.

Marilyn was born in Lenox, Iowa on April 26, 1927 to James Raymond and Grace Potts. During her childhood the family moved to Stuart where her father managed the United Food Market.

On January 1, 1947 Marilyn married Robert L. Miller of Casey where they lived until his death in l958. Marilyn then moved back to Stuart where she worked for Judge Hobart Newton and Attorney Dean Moore. Upon their retirement she moved to Des Moines and worked at Chevron Chemical Co. until their closing. She then worked at Harvey's Greenhouse in Adel. Marilyn finished her working career volunteering at the Urbandale Public Library.
Marilyn was a gracious and loving Mother and was devoted to her children, grandchildren and her beloved dog Abby. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and brother-in-law Raymond Miller.

Survivors include her daughter Kathy Kingery of West Des Moines, son James (Linda) of Greenfield, grandchildren Ryan (Tonia) Miller of Waukee and Ali Miller of Los Angeles, CA., brother-in-law Gene (LoAnn) Miller of Des Moines, sister-in-law Shirley Miller of Marshalltown and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Edgewater Rehab Facility, West Des Moines and also the staff at Legacy Pointe Senior Care in Waukee.

Private family services are planned with burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Casey, Iowa. Any memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League.
