Paul Algreen, 62, of Dexter passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, January 1, 2024 at his home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday, January 4th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Friday, January 5th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Services will be live-streamed on our Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/JohnsonFamilyFH). Memorials may be directed to the Dexter Sons of the American Legion. Paul was born on May 12, 1961 to Billy and Sheila (Richardson) Algreen in Redfield, Iowa. He grew up outside of Redfield and then lived outside of Earlham and graduated from Earlham High School. Most of the rest of his life he spent living in Dexter. Paul worked at All-American Turf Beauty, Rhodes Trucking, Agriland and lastly, Manheim. He was a longtime member of the Dexter Sons of the American Legion.
On October 23, 1993 he was united in marriage to Debra Kirkpatrick in Dexter. The couple enjoyed spending time with friends/family, camping, boating, attending car shows with his beloved IROCZ and family vacations. Paul was a fan of NASCAR, the Chicago Bears, and Iowa and Iowa State games and spent many weekends watching sports with his sons, grandsons and friends. He was a friend to all and loved a good laugh, he was the king of 'Dad jokes' that he told over and over again. Most of all he treasured time he was able to make memories with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters-in-law, Kim Algreen and Kim Wolfe.
He leaves behind his wife, Debra of Dexter; children: Tiffany (John) Dunagan of Ankeny, Michael (Nikki) Algreen of Stuart, Lindsey Harding of Stuart,and Riley Algreen of Stuart; grandchildren: Braylie, Liam, Jasper, Kellan, Leo, Anthony, Amelia, and Valor; sister, Teresa (Mike) Hoffelmeyer of Winterset; brothers, Phil Algreen of Earlham and Alan (Teresa) Algreen of Earlham; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
