Richard was born on March 9, 1966 to Richard Lee Cook and Linda Sue Martin in Des Moines, Iowa. At the age of 6, he was adopted by Thomas Charles Moore. While growing up his dad was in the military and the family lived in Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina. The family later lived in Cedar Rapids where Richard graduated from Kennedy High School. Following graduation he attended truck driving school at DMACC. During his working career he worked as a truck driver for Caliber Concrete for four years, Wayne Carter for six years and Rhodes Inc. for 14 years. Richard was a long time member of the Sons of the American Legion and the Teamsters Local 147.
On June 7, 1990 Richard was united in marriage to Jeri Judith Vance in Des Moines, Iowa. The couple made their home in Dexter. In his spare time, he enjoyed dirt track racing, drag racing and collecting Hot Wheels and pens. He loved getting out in the yard on the mower where he could mow for hours. He treasured time he could give his grandkids rides on the mower and four-wheeler. Until cancer took his voice he enjoyed visiting with everyone that he could.
He was preceded in death by his son, Cory Thomas Moore; and grandson, Robert Carl Davis III (Weeman).
Richard leaves behind his loving wife, Jeri of Dexter; children: Michael Moore of Grundy Center, Jessie Moore of Indianola, and William Moore of Dexter; grandchildren, Annabella Marie Davis, Jada Marie Moore, and Alucard Moore; father, Thomas Moore of Cedar Rapids; mother, Linda Moore of Sully; father, Richard Cook of Altoona; siblings: Carol (Roger) Jansen of Sully, Danielle Reimers (Randy Swisher) of Carlisle, Tika Clark of Des Moines, Kristina Hubby of Altoona, Michelle (Scott) Eash of Des Moines, Michael (Kristina) Cook of Earlville, and Lance Stockwell of Bettendorf; and a host of extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
