Rodney Bainter, 61 of Redfield passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019. Visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M. on Sunday, June 23rd at the Redfield Christian Church. Memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, June 24th at the Redfield Christian Church, followed by a luncheon and a time of fellowship. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rodney Bainter Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Rod was born on February 22, 1958 to Clarence and Mary (Keltner) Bainter at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He grew up in Redfield and attended Dexfield Schools. Rod graduated from Dexfield High School with the class of 1977. He lived in the Redfield and Adel areas most of his life; except for living in Fort Dodge for several years.
Rod was employed at Cargill, Iowa DOT and lastly worked in a maintenance position at Lake Panorama. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed doing anything outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, morel mushroom hunting and drawing. He enjoyed collecting antiques and other items. Rod was always quick to share a memory or story. Most of all he treasured time spent with family and friends.
Rod was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Bainter.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Jessi Ollom of Stuart; grandchildren, Ellie and Asher Ollom of Stuart; mother, Mary Bainter of Redfield; siblings: Teresa Umbaugh of Redfield, Kathy Sample of Ankeny and Lonnie Bainter of Redfield; step-children, Shane Davis and Shawnda Worthington; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
