Obituary for Ronald Eugene Love
Ronald Eugene Love, 72, passed away on April 11, 2018, surrounded by his family at Taylor House hospice. He lived in Redfield, Iowa until then having moved back to the same house where he was born. Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, April 13th at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Dexter. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Per his wishes his body will be cremated after the service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Taylor House Hospice or the family and sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, IA 50250. Ronald was born on August 30, 1945, son of Lola and James Love, Sr. He was raised and went to school in Redfield, Iowa. He also lived in Earlham, Iowa for many years where he raised his three children with his wife Norma. They later divorced. There he worked for Schildberg Construction as a mechanic for most of his career until he retired due to health reasons. He also was a member of the Earlham Fire Department for 13 years.
“Ronnie” was a small, quiet man with a huge heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was such a hard-working man his whole life till the very end. He cherished his family and friends. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, working on and painting cars and lawn mowers, and home projects. His most recent hobby was racing mowers with his son and grandchildren when he was still able. He also loved watching westerns, and catching up on the “news” over coffee with any family members who stopped by daily.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters Glenda (Marti) Rosenstiel, Oelwein, Laura (Robert) Greenway, De Soto and Daniel (Mandy) Love, Hartford; 3 Brothers- James (Lynn) Love, Sr., Edward (Diane) Love, and Gary (Sara) Love all of Redfield; one sister-Mary Barker, Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren-Aaron, Ashley and Amber Rosenstiel, James Warren, Caleb Johnson, and Kellie, Michael , and Nicholas Love, great-grandchild Cameron Lowery, nieces Paula Kuhns and Bambi Gish; special cousins Rick Hubby, Michelle Hubby and Pypre Madsen; and many, many more nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lola and James Love, Sr., brother Clarence (Butch) Love, brother-in-law Dale Barker.
