Ronald Lee Morrison, known affectionately by friends and family as Ron, Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle, and friend passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, at the age of 81, in Stuart, Iowa. Born on December 2, 1942, in Dexter, Iowa, to Tom and Ilene Morrison, Ron was a man whose spirited nature and passionate love for life touched everyone he knew.
Ron grew up in the close-knit community of Stuart, where he attended Stuart High School and excelled in sports. It was there that he formed the foundational values of hard work and dedication, which he carried with him throughout his life. Ron joined Armstrong Perelli Manufacturing in Des Moines, where he dedicated many years of service before his well-earned retirement. His colleagues remember him as a man who brought both commitment and humor to the workplace every day.
Family was the cornerstone of Ron's life. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Rosie Morrison, and his children, Rhonda O’Riley, Mike (Candee) Morrison, Mark (Melissa) Morrison. Ron's role as a father was one of his proudest achievements, and his guidance and support shaped the lives of his children in countless ways. The joy of his life multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Peyton, Gavin, Isaac, Andrew, Maleah, and Louie Morrison, who will forever cherish the memories of their fun-loving grandfather.
Ron's enthusiasm for life extended beyond the walls of his home and into the community where he was known for his unwavering support at his sons' sporting events. His voice could always be heard cheering from the sidelines, never missing a game and always encouraging not just his own children but all the young athletes with his infectious spirit.
His interests were as varied as they were passionate. An avid sports fan, Ron could often be found discussing the latest scores and plays with friends and family. Ron had great passion for Football and Horse racing but enjoyed all other sports as well. Ron also loved playing cards, fishing, a good pizza, an ice-cold beer, going to the movies, watching TV, and enjoying time with family and friends, especially Sister Kay (Ken) Caulkins.
As we bid farewell to Ronald Lee Morrison, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a life filled with love, friendship, and the joy of shared experiences. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit remains an everlasting presence in the lives of those he touched.
Ron's life will be honored in Celebration of Life Visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory -Stuart Chapel. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will continue to inspire and uplift us all. Rest in peace, Ron, and thank you for the laughter, the lessons, and the love.
