Ronald was born in Stuart, Iowa on December 24, 1939. He started school in Linden, moved to Missouri in junior high and moved back to De Soto, Iowa graduating from De Soto High School. Ronald married Kathleen Binns on February 22, 1959. He worked on the railroad one year before joining the Army.

When he started having back trouble, he went to work for the Iowa Department of Revenue and Finance where he retired in 2001.

In his spare time he enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jonas “Bill”; mother, Fern; brothers: Lovelle, Darrell and Russel; and sisters, Lois and LuAnna.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons: Terry (Lilly), Dennis (Kirstin) and Steve (Leslie); 13 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
