Santiago Jimenez, 68, of Des Moines died November 23, 2022 at Kavanaugh House Hospice. He was born on February 14, 1954 in Mao, Velverde, Dominican Republic to father Santiago Martinez Levandier and mother Sergia Antonia Jimenez. He grew up in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Santiago travelled to Iowa in 1986 and started working at Bridgestone/Firestone in Des Moines in 1988. He retired after 23 years of service and as a member of the United Steelworkers. Santiago enjoyed retirement and spent time socializing, playing dominos, and the lottery.
He was preceded in death by his father and daughter Katherine Jimenez. He is survived by sons Juan Jimenez (Brooke Findley) and Roberto Jimenez, granddaughter Joselyn, and his mother, Sergia. Also surviving to celebrate his memory are siblings and family in the Dominican Republic including Julio Martinez, Xiomara ra Marte, and Damarys Marte, among others.
Memorial contributions can be made directly to the family for granddaughter Joselyn’s future education.
