Sheryl was born September 15, 1921, to Mac and Lucille (Rose) Junkin at the family farm in rural Madison County. She grew up in the Earlham area and attended Earlham schools. She graduated from Earlham High School with the class of 1939. Following graduation she attended AIB Business School in Des Moines. During the early years of WWII she worked at the selective service office in Winterset where she met her future husband, Robert Bobst, who was registering for the draft. On October 2, 1943, they were united in marriage in San Marcos, Texas. Following Robert’s discharge they moved to St. Charles in 1947. To this union three children were born: Michael, Printha, and Christina. In 1950, the family made their home on a farm south of Earlham. In addition to raising three children, Sheryl assisted her husband operating Bobst Implement from 1961 to 1978, where they sold International and Ford equipment. She then worked at Wilson Equipment in Stuart until 1984 and lastly she served as executive secretary of the Iowa Federation of Women’s Clubs, retiring in 1996.

She was a member of the Earlham Presbyterian Church, Chautauqua Circle, Earlham Library Board, Mariners’ Club and served on the Earlham School Improvement Committee. In her spare time Sheryl enjoyed cross-stitching, reading, playing bridge and watching sports. She especially treasured time she was able to spend with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert; parents, Mac and Lucille Junkin; brother, Frank Junkin; sisters, Jan Junkin Whitney and Judy Junkin Binns Johnson.

She leaves behind her children: Michael (Linda) Bobst of Dexter; Printha (John) Fox of Culbertson, NE; and Christina (Curtis) Hiatt of Earlham; grandchildren: Matthew (Heather) Bobst, Brandon Bobst, Amanda (Tony) White, Lewis (Crystal) Fox, Jeffrey (Brenda) Fox, Marie (Cory) Backlund, Cory (Suzann) Hiatt; 17 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Paul (Helen) Bobst and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends that will miss her dearly.
