Stephen Dean Wolfe, 52, passed away March 31, 2021. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 12th, 2021 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Stuart Chapel. Funeral services will be held following at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter City Cemetery. An avid hunter and fisherman, Steve was born October 28, 1968 in Dexter, Iowa to parents Richard and Peggy Wolfe.
Steve attended elementary school in Dexter, Iowa. He loved living in a small town and spending the day outside playing with friends and riding his bike. His favorite memories were of squirrel hunting with his dad. The family later moved to Kearney, Missouri where Steve attended Jr. High and High School. During High School Steve learned how to build houses and begin his career in carpentry as soon as he graduated. He worked all his life as a carpenter building houses and bridges, forming concrete and supervising jobs.
Steve was married to Susie Swalla on June 15, 1996 in Adel, Iowa. He built a house outside of Lathrop, Missouri for his wife and three boys, Payton, Quinton, and Remington. Steve loved spending time outdoors with his boys and took them hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and camping. As they grew up he took them to Nascar races and Royals and Chiefs games. He loved watching his boys play sports and attended many football and baseball games & wrestling matches.
Steve is survived by his three sons, Payton 22, Quinton 19, and Remington 12, mother and stepfather Peggy & Denny Chisam and sister Kathy (Kelly) Loveall. Several step siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also mourn his passing. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents John and Maxine Hadley, Clifford and Betty Countryman and his father, Richard Wolfe.
