Obituary for T. Bonnelle Shaw
Theresa Bonnelle Shaw Kinnetz, 85, of Stuart passed away on March 20, 2016, in an auto accident in Peoria, Arizona. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, June 2nd at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 3rd at the First Congregational Church in Stuart. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the family for the establishment of scholarships through West Central Valley Scholarships (formerly West Central Valley Dollars for Scholars).
Theresa Bonnelle Alberts was born March 30, 1930 to Theodore Clifford (Ted) Alberts and Dottie Hannah Egger Alberts. Bonnelle graduated from Stuart High School in 1948. After completing the classes required at that time, she taught country school for one year. She and Edward Shaw were married June 5, 1949. They enjoyed 43 years together before Ed’s death in 1992.
Bonnelle earned her BA in Education from Drake University in 1967 and her Master’s Degree in Counseling, also from Drake, in 1970. She taught at Dexfield Community School for six years, and then served as counselor and teacher at Stuart-Menlo Community School from 1973 until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed her work with children of all ages and held their friendships dear as they grew to adulthood.
Bonnelle and Dawayne Kinnetz were married July 25, 1998.
Bonnelle was a member of the First Congregational Church in Stuart, and a member and past president of Beta Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, an associate member of Stuart Chamber of Commerce, Stuart Lions Club, and other community organizations. Bonnelle appreciated all aspects of nature, and especially enjoyed traveling.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Edward Shaw; her brother, Dale, in 1956 (also in an auto accident); her mother in 2001, and her father in 2006.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dawayne; her children: Diane (Jim) Belden of Stuart; David (Mary) Shaw of Clearwater, FL; and Donna (Russ) Bryant of Peoria, AZ; Four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive: Michelle Belden (Jory) Hunerdosse and their children, Aiden, Meghan, and Calyn of Indianola; Bryan (Jenyse) Belden, and their children, Drew, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Ella of Stuart; Tris Curtis (Mark) Wheeler and their children, Shea and Kaden of Clearwater, FL; and Jamie Curtis (Denton) Warne, and their son, McGuire of Minneapolis, MN. Her brother-in-law, Robert Patterson of Ida Grove and several cousins also survive including Mary Jo Egger Hall (Bernard) of Stuart.
