Ted was born October 1, 1953 in Clarinda, Iowa to Delbert Carl Tritsch and Yvonne Marie (Michel) Tritsch Meskimen. Ted was raised in Clarinda and graduated from Clarinda High School with the class of 1972. Following high school, Ted moved to Des Moines and enrolled at Des Moines Area Community College where he received his degree in Diesel Mechanics. Ted was united in marriage to Roben Merical on June 3, 1973 in Earlham, Iowa. To this union two daughters were born, Amanda Rae and Ashlee Marie. After their marriage they made their home in Earlham and Ted went to work for Ziegler Caterpillar in Des Moines as a Mechanic. He was a dedicated employee of Zeigler’s for 42 years and was looking forward to retiring in three years. Ted was a past member of the Jaycee’s in Earlham and was a past Earlham Fire Department Volunteer. Ted was very much a family man and enjoyed spending his free time with his daughters and grandchildren. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, watching ballgames, boating, hanging out with his friends and a nice ride on his motorcycle especially the new Harley Davidson he recently purchased for himself. Ted will certainly be remembered for his unforgettable laugh.
