Timothy John Foy, 41 of Des Moines passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from complications of diabetes. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Stuart at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
TJ, as he was better known to family, and friends was born on August 17, 1981 to Thomas and Carol (Cornell) Foy in Guthrie Center, Iowa. He grew up in Stuart and attended West Central Schools graduating with the class of 2000. Following graduation, he attended DMACC, Iowa Lakes Community College and studied Audio Production at the Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis. After attending IPR, TJ moved back to Stuart before moving to Urbandale and lastly Des Moines. He worked several years at Casey's, and a long career at Kum & Go. In his spare time he enjoyed playing guitar, reading and artwork; was also an avid Star Wars fan. TJ treasured time he was able to spend with his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Veronica Cornell; and paternal grandparents, Gerald and Marjorie Foy.
He leaves behind his parents, Thomas and Carol of West Des Moines; brother, Shawn (Tricia) Foy of Urbandale and their children, Leah and Evan; sister, Amy (Sloan) Cownie of Des Moines and their children: Clara, James, Brennan and Gabriel; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
