Obituary for Troy Earl Bishop
Troy Earl Bishop, 50, of Stuart, Iowa (formerly of Cooperstown, North Dakota) passed away October 17, 2020 at his home in Stuart. Per Troy’s wish cremation has taken place at the Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Stuart Chapel. Pending services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, North Dakota.
Troy was born July 11, 1970 in Dallas, Texas to Gene Edward and Annie (Miller) Bishop. He grew up in Frisco, Texas and graduated from Frisco High School with the class of 1988. While in high school, Troy took pride in being part of the Frisco High School football team. Following high school, he managed three McDonald’s before finding his calling in life becoming an over the road truckdriver. He operated Circle B Transport for several years hauling loads throughout the United States and Canada. Troy was united in marriage to Collette (Olson) Bishop on July 7, 2007 in Sanger, North Dakota. Following their marriage, Troy, and Collette both drove over the road as well as operating the Cooperstown Drive Inn in Cooperstown, North Dakota. Troy was a member of the El Zgel in North Dakota and the National Association of Independent Truckers (NAIT). He enjoyed camping, fishing, attending sales, fixing and repairing things, and spending quality time with his children especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Annie Bishop in 2002 and Gene Bishop in 2016, grandfather, Amos Bishop, grandfather, Bascom Lee Miller, grandmother, Eunice V. Miller, uncles, Berlie Harrold, Jack Frank, Jimmy and Lee Miller.
Troy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife Collette Bishop of Stuart; children, Mikkuel (Jesse) Olson of Mandan, North Dakota, Zahra (Derek) Bond of Ankeny, Iowa, Lee (Cathline) Olson of Stuart, Iowa and Joshua (Courtney) Bishop of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Ethan, Brooklynn, Braxton, Gabriel, Alayna, Owen, Elyzah, Saphira, Taylen and Mylah; siblings, Rebecca Ann (Alan) Murphee, Henry Douglas Harrell, Dennis Edward (Michelle) Bishop, Roy Lee (Naomi) Bishop, Shawn Allen (Alena) Bishop; uncle, Johnny Frank (Char) Bishop, aunt, Mary Francis Harrold, uncle Bennie Ray Miller, aunt, Margie Bishop, aunt, Linda Bishop and Kerm Boone, aunt Peggy Sue Bishop and a host of nieces, nephews and friends all of whom will miss him greatly.
