Obituary for Wendell Dwayne Miller
Wendell Dwayne Miller, 88 of Panora, formerly of Redfield passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Lakeside Village in Panora. Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date at Panther Creek Cemetery, rural Adel. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Redfield American Legion. Wendell was born in rural Adel on March 17, 1932 to Rosco and Ila (Macklin) Miller. Wendell grew up near Redfield and attended Redfield Schools graduating with the class of 1950. Following high school, he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Wendell was honorably discharged in November, 1953. One May 13, 1956 he was united in marriage to Dora Bergman at the Redfield Christian Church. To this union three sons were born: Mike, Allen and Marty. The family made their home in Redfield before moving to Stuart and lastly at Lakeside Village in Panora.

Wendell spent most of his working career as an over the road trucker. He was a lifelong member of the Redfield American Legion and those that knew Wendell knew his favorite hobby was drinking a cold beer. Wendell adored his four legged friend, Corky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dora; daughter-in-law, Denise Miller; honorary sister, Norma Jean Caltrider and uncle, Doyle McKinney.

Wendell leaves behind his three sons: Mike Miller of Carroll, Allen Miller of Bagley and Marty Miller of Perry; grandchildren, Samantha Ulsh of Urbandale and her children Isabella and Charlee, Jennifer Sudbrock of Templeton and her children, Sophia and Talon; Jason Miller of Eagle, Nebraska and Shawn Miller of Elko, Nevada and a host of extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
