Obituary for Jack Eugene Lamb
Jack E. Lamb, 55, of Redfield, Iowa, passed away suddenly in his home early Sunday, March 11. A memorial gathering and celebration of Jack’s life will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Redfield American Legion Building. A private burial of his cremains will be held in South Oak Grove Cemetery in Stuart. Cremation was handled by Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Dexter Chapel.

Born in Dexter on June 13, 1962, to Nola and Ted Lamb Sr., Jack was a Redfield native known to many as a handyman like his father — a carpenter, a roofer, a concrete finisher... He truly was a “Jack of all trades” whose devotion to his home literally shaped and sculpted the sidewalks, stair steps, doorways and rooftops of Redfield, Dexter and neighboring communities.

Jack grew to make a name for himself as a fierce competitor for the Dexfield Blue Devil wrestling and football teams before graduating from Dexfield High School in 1980.

A few years later, Jack met Judy Anderson, of Adel, with whom he shared a love rooted in true friendship, as they raised a family together. Their son, Jordan Starr Lamb, was born on Dec. 7, 1996, which might have been the proudest day in Jack’s life, closely matched by each subsequent moment watching his son grow into a man and a Marine.

Along with Judy (Anderson) Moyer and his son Jordan Lamb, Jack is survived by three step-sons in Adel, Tyrone Williams (and his wife Heather), Jared Moyer and Justin Moyer; a step-daughter, Amber Williams, of Stuart; four grandkids; his brothers Tom Findley, of Des Moines, and Teddy Lamb, Jr., of Adel; and a long list of friends, all of whom have been that much stronger and that much better with Jack on their side.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Craig Findley and Randall Lamb

Memorial donations may be made payable to his son, Jordan S. Lamb.
