Obituary for Kathleen Kay Moorhead
Kathleen Moorhead, 61, of Booneville, formerly of Casey, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Stuart Community Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Monday, November 24th at the Casey United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, November 25th at the Casey United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Dalmanutha Cemetery in rural Casey. Memorial contributions may be directed to Casey United Methodist Church and/or Stuart CCC Foundation and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Kathleen was born May 30, 1953 to Dwayne and Thelma (Smithson) Moorhead in Greenfield, Iowa. She grew up in Casey and she attended Adair-Casey Schools. She graduated from Adair-Casey High School with the class of 1971. Following graduation she made her home in Des Moines. In 1972, she began her dream job working at the Ardan Corporate Office working in the Catalog Showroom. Kathleen worked at Ardan until the company was sold in 1984. She then worked for two years at Fawn Engineering. In 1988, she began a career in sales and marketing working as an Independent Insurance Agent and in 2000 began as an Assembly Independent Contractor. Kathleen moved to Booneville, Iowa in 1997 and later moved to an acreage nearby.
She loved being outside gardening and tending to flowers. Kathleen enjoyed reading and sewing. She treasured spending time with her family and friends, especially her precious cat Muffin.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her father, Dwayne Moorhead; grandparents; brother-in-law, Gene Arnburg; sister-in-law, Dorothy Moorhead; nephew, Doug Arnburg; and one infant niece.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving mother, Thelma Moorhead of Casey; siblings: Norman (Linda) Moorhead of Bivins, TX, Connie Arnburg of Decorah, Gail (JD) Berkler of Oldsmar, FL; nieces and nephews: Rick Moorhead, Sonja Templeton, Alan (Joann) Moorhead, Janese (Rocky) Moses, Scott (Kelli) Arnburg, Pamela (Dave) Irons, Kimberley (Doug) Johnson, Sandi (Scott) Cranston, Michael (Donna) Brownlee, Tammy (Lenny) Milcowitz; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends that will miss her dearly.
