Lola was born October 13, 1920 in Redfield, Iowa to Clinton Forest and Mable Simelton Cave. She grew up in the Redfield area and attended rural grade schools. Lola went to work at an early age to help support her family and raise her younger siblings until she met the love of her life, James William “Willie” Love Sr.. Lola and Willie were married on October 15, 1938 in Redfield. This union was blessed with 6 children, James Jr., Mary, Clarence, Ronald, Gary and Henry. Granddaughter Paula Love would also become a part of the family in later years. Lola and Willie lived near Panora for a year and then moved to Redfield where they lived the remainder. Before Willie’s passing on December 16, 2004, they celebrated their 66 wedding anniversary. Lola worked at the Redfield Hospital for over 17 years before retiring in the early 1970’s. She was a lifelong member of the Redfield Christian Church and was a past member of the Redfield American Legion Auxiliary.
