Dorothy was born June 17, 1932 in Wiota, Iowa to Harry and Lenore Hedrick Jacobsen. At the age of 12 the family moved to Cumberland where they made their home. She attended White Union #4 rural grade school. After schooling, Dorothy moved to Mammoth, Illinois and was employed at Form Fit. While living in Mammoth, she met her future husband Frank William Moser. They were later married on July 14, 1956 in Mammoth. To this union four children were born, Jay, Carl, David, and Regina. After their marriage they lived on Military bases with Frank being in the United States Air Force, moving to Blytheville, Arkansas to Florida and once Frank retired they made their home in Casey. Dorothy lived in Casey until moving to Stuart in 1991. Dorothy was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and served at a VBS leader for several years and after moving to Stuart became a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Dexter. She was baptized and confirmed on November 2, 1952 at the First Lutheran Church in Wiota. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing and crafts of all sorts. Her greatest enjoyment was time spent with her family.

Besides her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank, and two sons, Jay and David Moser.

Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Carl of Stuart; daughter, Regina Simmons of Des Moines; granddaughter, Athena Anderson of Urbandale; grandson, Tim Anderson of Des Moines; three sisters, Mildred St. Cyr of Tucson, Arizona, Ruth Kemple of Bates City, Missouri and Janet Volz of Adel and a host of nieces nephews and friends all of whom will miss her greatly.
