Obituary for Ralph Frederick Miller
Ralph F. Miller, 77, of Des Moines passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Graveside memorial service will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday, November 18th at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ralph Miller Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, IA 50250. Ralph was born on May 27, 1938 to Raymond and Hazel (Herman) Miller in Polk City, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm where he was active helping his father. After graduating high school, he joined the National Guard before enlisting in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. While in the Army he was stationed in Germany and worked as a Mechanic near the German-Russian boarder.

Following his return home, he was united marriage to Donna Swanson on July 9, 1966 in Des Moines. The family made their home in Des Moines where Ralph worked for Western Tool, American Machine Foundry for 22 years and lastly at Ruan for 10 years in the Warranty Service Department. Ralph enjoyed tinkering with different tools and working on machines. Ralph never met a stranger and loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ralph leaves behind his loving wife, Donna of Des Moines; daughter, Kristen (Patrick) Davis of Des Moines; grandson, Shayne Ray Davis; four siblings and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
