Obituary for Mable Alice Clark
Mable Alice Clark, 66, of Stuart passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015 at her home. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, December 3rd at the Historic Saints Center in Stuart. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, December 4th at the Historic Saints Center in Stuart. Burial will be at South Oak Grove Cemetery in Stuart. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Stuart Rescue Unit and may be sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, IA 50250. Mable was born December 29, 1948 to Harry and Wilma (Shelley) Hormann in Dexter, Iowa. She grew up in Minburn before moving to Stuart. She attended schools in Stuart and graduated from Stuart High School with the class of 1967. She then moved to Sedalia, Missouri where she worked at the Levi factory before moving back to Stuart.
On December 12, 1970 she was united in marriage to Richard Eugene Clark at the Stuart Congregational Church. To this union two children were born, Gordon and Jami. The family made their home west of Stuart. She worked as a Postal Carrier for several post offices, lastly in West Des Moines. She also worked for Merrill Lynch for 27 ½ years in Des Moines working on wire orders. She was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs, LEA, Encampment, Canton, LAPM, Fairview Church, the Postal Union and the Rural Mail Carriers Association. She enjoyed traveling through Odd Fellows and Rebekahs, cooking and baking. She loved to crochet and raising chickens. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2001; father, Harry; brothers, Roger and Mickey Hormann; mother and father-in-law, Harold and Alice Clark; and brother-in-law, Owen Egger.
Mable leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Gordon (Carrie) Clark of West Des Moines and Jami (Kevin) Rafter of Stuart; Mother, Wilma Hormann; grandchildren: Courtney Clark, Charity Ramer, Drew Clark, Kenzi Ramer, Matthew Clark, Kade Clark, Karl Rafter; Sibilings: Carol Ann (Dennis) Davis of Des Moines, Judi (Bob) Zimmerline of Adair, Alan (Darlene) Hormann of Allenton, WI, Corine Hormann of Morengo; Sister-in-law, Alberta Jirak of Stuart; and a host of other family and friends that will miss her dearly.
