Obituary for Michelle DiAnne Sargent
Michelle DiAnne Sargent, 45 of Stuart passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 surrounded by her family after a three-year battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 26th at the First Congregational Church in Stuart. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 27th at the First Congregational Church in Stuart. Burial will follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Menlo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Michelle Sargent Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home & Crematory, PO Box 246, Stuart, Iowa 50250. Michelle DiAnne Sargent was born November 4, 1974 to Roy and Lynda (Enright) Sargent in Creston, Iowa.
She graduated from Adair-Casey High School in 1993 and attended DMACC in Ankeny. She held various jobs, but most recently had been the city clerk in Casey. She was very proud of the fact that she reconstructed the “books” after the devastating City Hall fire in Casey. She was asked to speak at some training sessions on how to recover and/or prevent disasters in your city office. Everyone was amazed at what she was able to accomplish. She served on the Adair County Sanitary Landfill Commission and with the Golden Circle Municipal Finance Officers Association.
Michelle’s oldest child, Andrew was born on October 5, 1995. Michelle married Jason King on November 17, 2007. Zoey Lynn King was born on November 25, 2008.
Michelle loved art, photography, cooking, shopping, bowling, attending county fairs, farmers markets, making egg rolls for her family; but most of all her children and family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lynda Sargent(2010) and grandparents, Mardell(2008) and Ardith(1988) Sargent and Bernard(2009) and Marilyn Enright(1974).
She is survived by her son, Andrew (Courtney) Sargent; daughter, Zoey King; father, Roy (Sandy) Sargent; sister, Kim (Donnie) Kinzie; brothers, Kevin (Carrie), Brian and Patrick Sargent; nieces and nephews, Cierra Kinzie, Jack Sargent, Brandon, Emilee, Sarah, Madilyn, Shawn and Christian Sargent and many other relatives all of whom will miss her greatly.
